The problem
Project teams often begin with incomplete drawings, outdated documentation, limited photographs and assumptions about how a building or space is configured. Even when scan data is available, poorly aligned scans, unverified registration and unorganised datasets can limit its usefulness.
What we do
We use professional terrestrial 3D scanning and reality-capture equipment to document buildings, structures, industrial spaces and indoor environments as they exist at the time of the survey. Scans are captured from multiple overlapping positions and registered into a consistent 3D point cloud. We then clean, verify and structure the data, with quality checks to ensure it is suitable for the intended workflow. We can also process scan data captured by other providers, subject to a review of its coverage and control. The resulting data provides a reliable spatial reference for design, documentation, coordination and future planning.
Suitable applications
- Pre-design surveys of existing buildings
- Existing-condition documentation
- Architecture, renovation and refurbishment projects
- Industrial plant and machinery environments
- Property and facility documentation
- Structures with difficult or restricted access
- Sites where drawings are missing or unreliable
- Spaces where repeated site visits are disruptive
- Processing of client-captured scan data
- Recovery of poorly organised legacy datasets
- Merging scans captured across multiple visits
- Preparing data for downstream modelling
Process
Project discovery
We establish the site, required accuracy, intended use, safety constraints and deliverable.
Capture planning
Methodology, scan-position density, site-access plan, control requirements and data management are agreed in writing.
Capture
Field capture follows the agreed site and safety procedures, with coverage checked before demobilisation.
Processing and quality control
Registration, cleaning and verification are completed with residuals recorded rather than assumed.
Delivery and support
Deliverables are issued in the agreed formats with clear file organisation and technical support.
Deliverables
- Registered 3D point cloud
- Digital twin or navigable web viewer
- Panoramic scan imagery
- Scan position plan
- Registration and QA report
- Cleaned and cropped point cloud
- Registered spatial data
- Existing-condition record
- Annotated coverage and exclusions record
Supported formats
Final formats are agreed according to project requirements, client software and intended use. We confirm support for a format after testing it against your software.
Accuracy considerations
Measurement suitability depends on the scanning equipment, capture conditions, surface characteristics, scan-position density, line of sight and registration quality. Glass, polished metal, standing water and obstructed areas may affect data reliability. Data captured by other providers is processed to the quality its coverage and control permit. Project-specific accuracy requirements, limitations and coverage exclusions are identified before delivery.
Project-specific accuracy and methodology are confirmed during scope development. We do not publish a universal accuracy figure, because a single number cannot hold true across every site condition.
